I've saved a lot of clippings over the years. Some are recipes (OK, LOTS are recipes!), some are obituaries. Many are quotes that stopped me in my tracks because they gave me a new perspective on some quandary that I had recognized. Here are two from this week.

- My favorite beverage is milk (raw milk, not that wimpy whole milk!).
- My favorite food is watermelon.
- I am part of two prayer shawl groups and also make them for a church that doesn't yet have a group.
- I have been crocheting since about 1975.
- I have been knitting since 1965.
- In high school I played piano, clarinet, and saxaphone.
- I'm the oldest of four siblings (all males).
- I was born 17 days late and have been unsociably early ever since to make up for lost time.
- My favorite color is purple, such as plum or eggplant.
- I learned to knit continental from reading a Miss Silver mystery by Patricia Wentworth.
